The winner of the 2010 Kentucky Derby was Super Saver. His trainer is Todd Pletcher, who has indicated that in two weeks we will see Super Saver at the Preakness. Jockey Calvin Borel claimed after the victory that he was going to win the Triple Crown. Pletcher noted that Borel is a very confident individual, but does indicate that more likely than not his horse will race in the Preakness. Not many other horses from the Kentucky Derby are said to have made a positive commitment to the race.

Like clockwork, every year
on the first Saturday in May, Churchill Downs in Louisville,

Churchill Downs, the world’s most legendary racetrack, has

third and final leg of the prestigious Triple Crown Race for

The Triple Crown takes
place every summer, beginning with the Kentucky Derby -

the first Saturday in May. The Kentucky Derby is followed by
the Preakness Stakes. The Preakness takes place on the third
Saturday in May at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MD.
The Belmont Stakes is the third and final race of the Triple
Crown and is ran on the second Saturday in June at Belmont
Park in Elmont, NY.
The grueling schedule of three races in 5 weeks at longer
distances than most have run previously in their careers is
probably the most difficult task any horse will face in his
racing career.
Only eleven horses have won the elusive Triple Crown. The
first winner of the Triple Crown was Sir Barton in 1919.
Affirmed in 1978 is the most recent Triple Crown winner.
There have been 43 horses who won two of the three races.
